A bit about the Loooove thing.

Well. I had the most amazing week with Lucia. When she was back in Grand Canaria for a week visiting family and I was moping around on Compromise totally unmotivated and alone, everything seemed pointless. What a difference her visit made last week. We had an absolutely magical time bussing it around Tenerife. (In the local palance a bus is a Guagua, pronounces Wahwah) I think we were both surprised how much there was still to discover. The day took a leisurely pace, never leaving the boat earlier than 11, a bit of exploration by bus, a late lunch and a swim in the afternoon before returning back to base for a home cooked meal on Compromise.

The picture above was actually taken on El Hiero. L.C. has an analogue camera and she gave me a copy. I thought I'd treat you to a still life of the saloon glass rack complete with the Virgin of Carmen.(Virgin of Carmen is the patron saint of sailors and seamen).

I have to admit I have been a bit coy about this relationship thing on boatdiary.com. But in it's infancy a relationship can be a fragile and delicate thing. Better not complicate it on some crazy Blog! OK, OK we are not getting married yet, but things are looking serious enough that my movements are being planned around pre-arranged rendezvous points, a week in September, possibly two in October and ultimately 4 to 6 weeks in the Caribbean, destination unknown.

I was not expecting my trip to turn into a love story but so far it's been a very interesting diversion indeed! Tread softy gentle reader and wish us luck. We are still feeling our way, trapped in an Atlantic Island haze. Who knows what awaits us out on the horizon.

As I so disingenuously wrote on the index page of boatdiary last week, the story has stalled. Well, not really, it's just the boat that has.
