I reckon Playa Francesca is the best natural harbour in the Canaries, it is open to the South as the pilot points out but for the prevailing North East Trades it is perfect. I spent a week in there with the trades blowing a constant F5.
Just a technical note on the photo. Don't you love the way the photographer has used the flair of the sun to good aesthetic effect!? A hole has been burnt into the centre of the picture. It is almost like some ominous mushroom cloud.
