The view over the anchorage from the Real Club Nautico de Gran Canaria

Las Palmas Summary

A quiet contemplative moment at the Yacht Club produced this photo. For weeks I had been listening to trucks and cranes building the breakwater. I had just had a shower, and I was about to spend my last night with my special Canary Guide. I had done a quite a bit of work on the boat but not like Ireland. What was so different about this stay is I had stopped just to live a bit. I was going to miss new friends when I sailed on. In two days time I was sailing for Gomera, about 110 nautical miles to the south.

For one last stroll around the place click on the pictures for a fragmentary glance of Las Palmas.
