Still Life

Well we took it easy to start. A day sail of 16 miles or so. Picked up a mooring in Cala Formentor on the NW tip of Mallorca. Discovered the price of a mooring was €34. Got right off that mooring but not in time to have the wood and fairlead ripped from the forward, starboard gunnel . Perhaps that was god’s tax for staying on it all night unpaid. In a torrential downpour, we retreated to an anchorage behind Point Avanzada, not 3 miles away. Coner liked to call it the the drug Czar’s place. There was an ominous fort on the peninsula. All I could think of doing while we were holed up down bellow dodging the rain for most of the day, was take yet another photo from the hatch.

The next day we headed into another anchorage off Port Pollensa ( literally a hop across the bay) and checked out the weather for our 30 mile passage to Menorca.
