We travelled 7 miles up the river and boy was it hot! I have leaky cabin hatches which were taped down for the trip across the Bay of Biscay. Here is a picture of them. We openned up a hatch in Villamoura and it was definately time to remove the second hatch cover once up river. A swim was essentiall to escape the heat. I would plan to come back in October if I was serious about exploring the little villages up river.
