Culatra

. . . Faro is protected by a sand bar and lagoons. Only 15 miles west of Villamourra we took our time setting off from Villamoura and arrived about sunset just off a fishing village and Island called Culatra. The place was fascinating. It reminded me a bit of Wards Island in Toronto, though a bit more gritty, a working fishing community. The anchorage was fantastic. We swam, rowed into shore and even took a day trip into town exploring Faro and Olhao, a port right next to Faro. Here are the holiday snaps for you, Olhao, and Culatra. Next stop Rio Guadianna, 40 knots south.
