Saturday the 30th of April

I am alone, onboard Compromise having just finished washing up from dinner. I feel in some ways like I have come full circle and I am right back at work on the day I left my job for a new life. Ireland has been an extension of home for me, a safe haven, a place to prepare for the next leg of the journey.

I have, remarkably, a crew of two after selecting 5, 3 of whome were either rejected in the end or withdrew. Thursday morning Graham informed me he could not go and out of nowhere Finbarr delivers Richard from a chance encounter in Glengarriff. Friday I had a tentative yes, Sunday we wait for confirmation.

For some reason I am feeling incredibly lonely tonight. I miss the company of good friends. I am at a traditional music festival in Kenvarra. The type of thing we might cavort around, drinking and generally making merry. The boat is anchored just off the town pier. Not a breadth of wind as the sun slowly sets off in the distance. I and another yacht share the bay with an old Galway Hooker and two green fishing boats. Several are tied up on the wall next to the town strand, one of which is Adam. Oh well it is time to stop being lonely and join some new friends! The photo was taken from Sarah's place. Adam and I did a bit of an impromptue paint job and the kitchen and took much over due showers.

3 days wait before departing for Lisbon. . .
