St. Patrick's Day Parade

An entry has to go into the old diary for St. Patricks Day. Actually it's a story that needs to be told in person to do it justice but the general jist of it is the Irish celebrate their national holiday by drinking. Now I had a full day of work planned out for me but could not resist nipping into to town to check out the local parade. The theme was saints, sinners and scholars, right up my alley. The Chamber of commerce, depicted above fit right in. I took in the town's festivities and headed to the local super market for some Guiness and supplies for dinner. On board the good ship compromise I scared up a wicked meal, while jamming to Bob Marley. With my head spinning I headed off to town to take in a pub. Well of all the places It happend to be a Tinker's pub. A tinker it seems is a native of the land, like Gypsies but not travelling. I could not work out what language people were speaking. I stepped out the pub for a cigarette and lo and behold the name beckoned out to me, Looney's. Well time to move on. I headed back to the Marina in search of some more souls to join me and lo and behold I ran into Finbarr. We took off for a town nearby and once seated with the requisite pint of Guiness before us Finbarr preceded to get into an argument about the IRA with the two local punters at the bar. It was all a bit weird. Like don't mention the war. Well we hi taled it out of their and headed back into Kilrush. After a hazy tour of the local establishments we ended are evening in Buggles. The day was seen out on a surge of Irish Whiskey and chorus singing from the by then overly enthusiastic patrons. I did manage to pull myself together and make a dignified exit before collapsing back home safe and sound alone in my bunk. Thank St. Patrick I managed to make it home with my dignity intact.
