Friday the 25th of February, I arrived late, back in Kilrush after two nights in Dublin. Wednesday afternoon I arrived in Dublin and stayed in the Temple Bar District in a hostel. Thursday I was rescued from the hostel and stayed in Mary’s bijoux flat about 3 miles from the centre of town. The CD was given to me. I was actually welcomed to Dublin by a singing duo in a pub which as it happened was Miriam’s daughter, Aine and her Dad, Cathal. I couldn’t believe the coincidence. It was not planned. Honest. Miriam and Mary looked after me and gave me a very warm Irish welcome to Dublin. I had met them two months earlier in Baltimore. The 6 hours on the bus back to Kilrush was a not fun. At least I had my boat stuff firmly tucked away in my big black bag: new lighting for the interior of the boat and, very important indeed, a car stereo CD player with an auxiliary input jack for the Ipod. That was a real score; at Argos no less.
