A First. Launched the Spinnaker today.

Today we had a really exillerating sail. Finbarr's son Mossy and his friend Toby joined me for the day. We went through all the lines, sheets and guys with a mock set-up on the fordeck before actually deploying the spinaker. We had about 12/16 knots of wind for our downwind leg. Weather was variable with a bit of rain, in fact a lot of rain with the motor back up from the Maiden buoy. From the mouth of Sneem horbour we continued up the bay beeting to windward in winds that were approaching the 20 knot mark. In fact by the time we were safely tied up to our mooring in Sneem harbour we had a hell of a job rowing back to shore. We came parilously close to being swept out to sea. Thankfully Finbarr was waiting for us back at shore and we had a warm night back at his place.
