Solo Passage of the Celtic Sea

Well for all the build up and the worry sailing solo was fantastic. The first night out was visited by a full moon and 3 dolphins playing on the bow. Lot's of time on my hands to clean up the cabin and bake bread. 10-17 knots of wind close hauled all the way. Kept in radio contact with Finbar who was sailing his Nicholson 28 back to Ireland. Got into Baltimore harbour 2 days later under power at one in the morning. It was a great experience and a real mile stone in my preparations for sailing an ocean one day. Who knows going solo may not be so out of the question. The one thing I do know is once back in harbour I miss having company and I can imagine 20-30 days at sea would get kind of lonely. Now I am in Ireland I am going to eke what sailing I can out of an Irish autumn. If you can imagine a boat cabin with a relative humidity of 95% is not a great place to be when the thermometer dips below 60.
