Today is the 22nd of September. Ran into Stephen and Diana yesterday in the Co-Op on St. Maries. It was great running into them. They had decided to anchor in Porth Cressa. Good move. Their boat, "Drunken Moon" looked great in the bay. I followed suit the next day and spent the first day at anchorage in relative calm. I have taken full advantage of it with a quick run ashore to book some time on the internet, back to the boat. Scraped the sea weed and barnacles off the bottom of the boat and went for a swim. More like a dip. Brrr. It felt good. A last defiant act of summer followed by naturist baking with Jos. In the relative privacy of the bay baked banana bread in the buff. It was a defiant summer moment which did not last long as the clouds quickly blocked out the sun. Made lunch and then worked on a passage plan for sailing to Ireland. 146 miles to Baltimore. Estimated time of passage 32 hours. Much depends on the weather. I'm planning on meeting Finbar over on Tresco who is stranded and waiting for a window of favourable weather to sail back to Baltimore as well. Saturday's forecast does not look favourable. I'm pinning my hopes on Sunday or Monday at this point.
