The first two weeks of August were a time of waiting, working on the boat and seeing friends. I was based for three weeks in Chichester and Langstone Harbours. I had visits from my good friend Caroline, her two lovely daughters and her brother. On another day my good friends Raj and Jenny joined me. We had a great little sail up and down the channel from Itchenor to East Head in Chichester Harbour one idyllic August Sunday. Much was still to sort out though. I had a car to get rid of, and much equipment needed installing on the boat. The electric generator, winches etc. Most importantly I had a crew mate. Sophie’s Step Dad, Dave wanted to sail to Lisbon. In the interim my mate Chris joined me for a few days in Langstone Harbour. He sorted me out with some fishing how to and know how. We met in Brighton and we picked the car up which I had abandoned in a car park at the Brighton Marina. We sailed with Dave one Wednesday on his little boat. It was a beautiful day sailing and over the following days we did some fishing from a peer just off Langstone Harbour.
