Week starting the 9th of May saw the first two weeks on board ship. The
big symbolic moment was moving all my herbs and spices from 32B Dulwich
Road to Compromise. The cupboards are full. And an entire bin liner of
rubish disposed of from the bulging cupboard in
Dulwich Road. Life on board ship is good. In fact I love it.
Pottering around the boat I am happy as Larry. The list of things to do
includes the installation of a water maker, sort out the bits and bobs
for the self steering gear, and painting and decorating. The interior
floor is particularly in need of a coat of varnish. Also lurking in the
back ground is the electronics and most pressingly the diesel engine,
which I'll arrange
a mechanic to have a look at on Friday.
But the most memorable part of my first two weeks on board is the
community of people I meet around the pond and of course excursions with
Dave.
